The College is updating the 2026–2027 winter break schedule. Winter break will now run from Saturday, Dec. 19, through Sunday, Jan. 3, replacing the previously announced dates of Dec. 24–Jan. 7 and returning to the winter break model established last year. The change will provide greater consistency across the College and better accommodate departmental operations and employee scheduling. Employees will still receive the previously announced additional day and a half of paid time off (PTO), now as floating holiday time to be used by June 30 in coordination with their supervisors.
Because the semester continues through Dec. 22, some employees will need to work during the first several days of the break, while some departments will need to maintain operations at other times. Employees required to work will receive equivalent time in their PTO banks to use at another time. Employees who have already made vacation plans based on the previously announced schedule should speak with their supervisor and contact Human Resources, who will work with them individually to ensure their personal plans are not impacted by the schedule change.
