Pathways

Each Mount Holyoke student is unique, and so is their path to success.​

Pathways is an integrated advising program that makes it easier for faculty, advisors, and mentors stay connected with students' goals, progress, and well-being throughout their academic careers. Key information about each student is stored in a centralized location, and access to that information depends on the individual's role. To help students forge connections, Pathways also supports appointment scheduling for office hours, advising appointments, and making referrals. This allows you to communicate and coordinate with others in the student's advising network to help ensure student success. The program helps you help them, and keeps you in the loop about recommendations you've made, referrals you've given or additional support that may be needed.

Students

Pathways brings together your individual network of people and services available to support your success at Mount Holyoke,​​​ placing you at the center of your advising experience. You’ll be able to reach out to your “Success Network​” — your advising team — to ask questions about classes, schedule advising appointments and learn about internships. Pathways positions you to chart your path to success at Mount Holyoke!

As you chart your individualized path at Mount Holyoke, the right people will know about your interests, plans, progress and well-being:

  • Your International Relations professor learns of your interest in civil liberties and connects you with the International Experiential Learning program within the McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives.
  • Your academic advisor learns of your interest in exploring Pre-Health career options and connects you with an advisor in the Pre-Health office.
  • Your faculty instructor suggests that you connect with your academic dean around time management skills to help better balance your rigorous coursework and extracurricular involvement/activities.
  • You have a question about your tuition bill, and you use the Raise Your Hand feature in Pathways to contact Student Financial Services.
     

You and your connections can share information through this secure system to make sure that you are getting the support you need:

 

Student Support
  • You can let them know if you are having trouble with your academic work, well-being or other kinds of distress.
  • You can use the system to ask a question, share a concern or request assistance.
  • You can find office and advising hours, schedule appointments and receive referrals to campus offices for additional help.
  • You can browse and learn more about campus services, MHC faculty, and expand your network.
Information Exchange
  • Your advising network (“Success Network”) can make referrals to connect you with other offices across campus to support your goals.
  • You and your advising network (“Success Network”) can send secure notes to each other in order to better guide you down your path.
  • Your instructors can provide course feedback to you - the feedback could be a kudos to recognize excellent work or a concern about your class performance (such as an attendance concern or a participation concern).
On-going data collection related to student success outcomes

We want to understand what works for students and what doesn’t. Pathways allows for data collection of student success indicators. This data will be used to help Mount Holyoke improve how we work with students.
